As you may be aware Melbourne won the rights to be Australia's representative in the bid for the World Cancer Congress in 2014.
As part of our bid for the International Cancer Congress in 2014 we are trying to show Australia's support by securing as many signatures as possible to the World Cancer Declaration.
World Cancer Declaration - Fast Facts:
- The World Cancer Declaration is a call to action to substantially reduce the global cancer burden by 2020.
- It was developed by international cancer control advocates to bring the cancer crisis to the attention of policymakers worldwide.
- It lays out an ambitious set of 11 targets and action plan to stop and reverse current trends.
- It was unanimously adopted at the World Leader's Summit of policymakers, leaders & health experts during the 2008 World Cancer Congress in Geneva, Switzerland.
- UICC is the "custodian" of the World Cancer Declaration.
Click on the link below and register today as we are trying to get as many people signed up as possible before Melbourne's/Australia's bid is presented in China in August. It would be great if you could also forward it to your colleagues, friends and family.

In order to inform the UICC of how many people MCVB has been able to bring onboard to sign the declaration, we need you to let us know how many people you and your contacts have been able to sign up.
We need to get as many signatures as quickly as possible to demonstrate to the UICC our ability to garner support and of course our country's interest in the fight against cancer.
