Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau has a dedicated Research Unit which undertakes and commissions research into the Business Events industry, forming an important tool in guiding MCVB’s strategies globally, and ensuring that MCVB’s stakeholders are kept abreast of industry performances and trends.
Major research projects conducted and commissioned by MCVB include:
- Business Events Industry Monitor
- Melbourne Convention Delegate Study – research for this study was undertaken between August 2006 and December 2007 with 2,600 delegates surveyed from 97 countries
- Melbourne’s ‘Green Credentials’ Report – a report identifying green initiatives undertaken by various Melbourne and Victorian government bodies and suppliers to the Business Event industry, which therefore assists event planners in planning low carbon impact events in Melbourne and Victoria.
Collaborative Research with MCVB
MCVB also works on collaborative research projects with tourism bodies and other organisations in the Business Events industry such as the Association of Australian Convention Bureaux and the Business Events Council of Australia.
