The Business Events industry (conferences, meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions) is one of the highest yielding inbound and domestic tourism segments, due to the high per-delegate spend.
While the sector has substantially grown over recent years, there has been little information regarding the size and the scope of the industry since the National Business Events Study (2005).
Measuring the Impact of Business Events
In response to this research need, Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB) developed the Melbourne Business Events Industry Monitor in April 2007.
The Study periodically obtains data from Melbourne’s key Business Events venues in relation to the number of events held, number of participants attending, and number of future events booked by duration, sector and type of event.
