Day 1
Today your group will gain a greater understating and respect for the customs and rich heritage of the local Boonerwrung and Woiwurrung Aboriginal people of the Kulin Nation. Discover more about their ancestral lands now occupied by well known landmarks around Melbourne such as the Southbank precinct and the Royal Botanic Gardens. Your group will explore the traditional uses of plants for food, medicine, tools and ceremony. Your guide will take you on a truly memorable journey through what is the world's oldest living culture.
Known as Australia's arts and cultural hub, Melbourne is also home to some of the nation's most elegant theatres. Choose from one of four of the Marriner Group's Melbourne theatres, which offer private suites and even a Spanish Rococo-style Ballroom for the ultimate VIP food and wine experience, prior to settling into the very best seats for world-class shows.
Day 2
Australia's cool climate wines are celebrated throughout the world, and here is your chance to experience first-hand what all the hype is about. Visit the Mornington Peninsula's famous wineries, sampling the region's fine wines and local produce, set amongst stunning coastal backdrops and bushland.
Pick your own fresh berries at Australia's largest strawberry producer – Sunny Ridge. For those craving something even sweeter, sample Belgian Chocolate Fondue Berries, produced by the farm's skilled chocolatiers, or award-winning farm-made ice cream, fruit wines and liqueurs.
Melbourne is at the forefront of culinary innovation with over 3,000 restaurants, cafes and bars, serving around 75 different ethnic cuisines. The dinner will showcase the fantastic food and wine scene of Melbourne, utilizing the city's great chefs and winemakers. Each course will feature the freshest ingredients sourced from Regional Victoria to reduce the carbon footprint. Well known Melbourne chefs and winemakers will present different courses and encourage guest participation.
During dinner, a silent auction of Australian arts & crafts will take place with proceeds donated to a local Melbourne based charity as a CSR initiative.
Day 3
Stage your own "Race to Base" Team Building activity, incorporating specially selected sites around Melbourne's Central Business District. Complete with cryptic clues and the power of team work, groups set off in staggered stages, racing each other from point-to-point to reach the finish first. Taking in Melbourne's history and modern monuments as they go, this event promotes team bonding, whilst providing new perspectives of the city.
Dine at Tjanabi restaurant @ Federation Square. Tjanabi restaurant is committed to supporting practices that support and sustain the environment. They source and use Australian native produce and game, minimising their food miles.
Day 4
Spend the morning at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), as the super stage of Australian sport, the MCG is an unforgettable experience. Traditionally the MCG has provided the live drama to thrill millions worldwide… memorable events such as the Olympic Games, Test cricket and Australian football's incomparable Grand Final on the last Saturday in September. But backstage, the MCG Tour gives the visitor the opportunity to relive their great sporting memories through a comprehensive tour of this marvellous stadium, where so many champions of yesterday and today have performed.
