The Melbourne Convention + Visitors Bureau (MCVB) established AIME in 1993 as a trade exhibition for meeting, incentive and event planners; today it is recognised globally as a key industry event. MCVB is the only Bureau in the world to own such a major Business Events exhibition.

AIME's excellence has been recognised with many accolades, and in 2010, AIME 2009 was awarded 'Exhibition of the Year' at the national Meetings & Events Australia Industry Awards.

AIME 2010 attracted 3,100 visitors with more than 800 exhibitors on show and a record 513 hosted buyers attending. Approximately 50 countries from around the globe participated.
